Busy, Busy, Busy

Hello everybody! I've been out of touch since after the Ondoy tragedy. I know I said "I'm Back" but then, (business) opportunity knocked and I grabbed it. I recently opened a stall in a mini mall in Congressional Avenue Quezon City. I thought of taking advantage of the coming holiday season...yah know, to earn a few bucks for gift-giving and kikay stuff...it's hard being a girl! HAHA!

My stall sells mostly organic stuff, some from Venus & Mars, a little from Human Nature, Mineral Makeup from Ellana and Bare Naturals, a host of body stuff I make.. from body scrub, body butter and body scents, burners and scented oils. So far so good.... hope it gets better as the holiday season approaches.

Wish me luck!! :)

Nice to be Back!!!

I was in hiatus for quite sometime..a week, maybe two. After that bummer typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana), I just wasn't in the mood to blog about anything. The aftermath was the most devastating but in a way it's also good to know that there are a lot of good-hearted people who really went out of their way... some even risked their lives just to help. Chivalry is not dead after all! This past week also proved that prayers really do work. The reported super typhoon Pepeng (Parma) didn't land in Manila as expected and it just wasn't that super anymore..YAY for that! But still it also left people homeless in the Nothern part of the country...Gosh...why all these storms?!!

Anyhoo...I missed blogging. While on a break, I was never really away 'cos I was also going around reading blogs and commenting on some : ) Nice to be back!!! Will be posting about some acquisitions soon... : )

'Til then...

Reach Out to Those In Need

Last Saturday, Sept 26, Metro Manila was immersed in flood water due to Typhoon Ondoy. It was unexpected. It happened before but not in Metro Manila. The amount of water that poured down was equivalent to 6 months of rain! Can you imagine that! A lot of properties were destroyed, families lost their homes, people were on rooftops. Social status was disregarded, people rich and poor were left homeless and hungry, unable to obtain food as they were stuck on the roof or at the upper floors of their houses. Some even died, carried away by the current of the flood waters. Rescue operations were delayed because the streets were too flooded, really in deep water, and too many people were in need. I guess our government wasn't prepared for a calamity of such huge proportions.

We were blessed to have a house located on a slightly elevated part of Quezon City. No cable, no phone lines, no internet connection are the worst we've been through. It's just like living a simple, no frills, just -the- basics kind of life... for that I am so grateful! It's NOTHING compared to what others have gone through.

My heart goes out most specially to our fellow beauty blogger, Shen. Last I heard, she still hasn't made contact with her Dad who lives in Marikina with her Uncle who has Down's Syndrome. She is worried sick cos the house where her Dad and Uncle stays is a bungalow. If you're from the Philippines, you know that Marikina is the flood capital of Metro Manila second to Navotas because the town is right next to a big river (Marikina River). She can't just rush to Marikina cos it's also flooded where she's staying now. I urge everybody to pray for Shen's Dad and Uncle that they will be delivered from harm. What's so sad about it is, she just lost her Mom recently ( a year ago if I'm not mistaken).

It's good to know that a lot of our countrymen are extending help whichever way they can, some by monetary, others by just being volunteers in packing and dispatching relief goods. I'm sure as individuals we too can help in our own little way...reach out, let's not underestimate the power of prayer.

How's everybody??

I hope everyone here in blogger are safe.

'Til then

Missha BB Deep Cleansing Oil

I had the chance to try a sample size of this as a freebie from a BB Cream purchase I made months ago. After using it and squeezing the life out of the small packet, I decided to buy a full-sized bottle. To make the long story short ---- I love, love, love it!

PACKAGE SAYS: 105ml. Botanical deep cleansing oil for BB Cream user. Dermatologist tested.
  • This deep cleansing oil perfectly removes BB Cream residue to be well adhered on the skin with its fine particles.
  • Contains Tea Tree Oil and patent ingredients, it protects your skin from skin troubles.
  • Its oil texture makes impurities melted away and you feel refreshed while changed into water-friendly type and washed off with water.
  • This water-free cleansing oil removes water-proof makeup and residue perfectly.
Botanical Oil: Sunflower Oil, Meadowfoam Oil, Macadamia Oil, Olive Oil, Jojoba Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Tea Tree Oil

Directions:
1. Take an appropriate amount onto dry hands and apply over the face as if massaging.
2. Apply water onto hands and keep massaging and wash off with lukewarm water.
3. Finish with cleansing foam or wash for perfect cleaning.

Made in Korea

I SAY: Pardon the grammatical errors, I just copied what was written on the box :) I guess the third bullet wants to say that altho' it's oil in texture, once you apply it and massage it on your face with a little water, it instantly turns into a consistency that is not oily at all. It becomes water-soluble..and that's what I love about it. After rinsing, my face is clean and fresh, not oily! Of course I still have to follow it up with my facial wash to remove last traces of it.

Yes, it can remove waterproof mascara! It's equally effective in removing all kinds of makeup, be it BB cream, traditional or mineral makeup.

PROS:
  • Cleans effectively
  • No greasy after-feel
  • No weird smell
  • Shelf life is clearly stamped
  • Convenient squeeze bottle avoiding wastage
CONS:
  • Slightly pricey at around 1000PhP/105ml (~$22 approx) altho' waaay cheaper than Shu Eumura Cleansing Oil
  • It's not really available locally, but some local online shops are selling it
Will I repurchase? Yes, If I run out, but I guess that's still a loooong time from now :)

How about you, what is your most effective makeup remover?

'Til next!!

xoxo
