Human Nature Organics for Babies & Kids

Recent studies suggest that baby shampoo, baby powder and lotion may be exposing babies to potentially harmful chemicals called pthalates. Pthalates are harmful chemicals that inhibit or negatively affect the proper development of the reproductive system especially in babies and young children.

Worry not mommies, Kids Nature from Human Nature is here to the rescue. With these kid-friendly baby care products, baths will be safe and FUN!

Kids Shampoo/Body Wash comes in 2 scents: watermelon & banana. My little boy's favorite is the watermelon =)

Baby Shampoo/Body Wash is unscented. The best for your newborn babes. It has gentle ingredients like aloe vera and chamomile to calm and soothe baby.

PS. I also use this to wash my brushes. Too expensive as brush cleaner? not at all! Check out the prices here

DIY Olive Oil & Lemon Face Mask

Keep Wrinkles at bay....
Another DIY beauty treatment as promised =) Just dig in to your cupboard for the ingredients

You will need:
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 teaspoon lemon juice

Mix the ingredients together and apply to freshly washed face. Leave on for 10 minutes and rinse off.

Why it works:
Olive oil is high in vitamin E and anti-oxidants, and it helps soften and condition the skin. Lemon juice helps removes old skin and the egg yolk provides anti-oxidants to soften lines and wrinkles.

There... now off to the kitchen!

Hope it works =)

Maybelline Mineral Liquid Foundation

back of my hand without foundation
one layer of foundation
second layer

Clear Smooth Minerals Healthy Natural Liquid Foundation (whew!) I had second thoughts about getting this foundation at first 'cos I already have tons of foundations in my makeup kit. Tolerating the addiction....I had to give in (boy, was it hard!) It's just a tiny tube anyway, justifying my purchase, lol! ..it's really cheap by the way, it's even on sale! 239Php sale price (18ml tube), 299Php original price, how could you resist?? Haha!

Package says: Clear Smooth Minerals Liquid Foundation is a breathable yet full coverage that gives a healthy luminosity.

Pros:
Buildable
Long lasting (after 8 hours I still look decent)
Looks natural
I used just 1 sheet of oil blotter (on the 6th hour)
It has SPF (16)

Cons:
It's not fragrance free. But it's fine acutally 'cos it doesn't smell funky or anything

My Verdict: Love it! and yes, I'll buy again if I run out =)

P.S I got it on sale at Watson's The Block

Stress Management

Worthwhile Points on Stress Management -- found it really nice and well put. Just want to share it to everyone...

A lecturer when explaining stress management to an audience, raised a glass of water and asked. 'How heavy is this glass of water?' Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g. The lecturer replied, 'The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it. If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance. In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.'
He continued, 'And that's the way it is with stress management. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on.'
'As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden.'
'So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down. Don't carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow.'
'Whatever burdens you're carrying now, let them down for a moment if you can.'
So my friend, put down anything that may be a burden to you right now. Don't

pick it up again until after you've rested a while.

Here are some great ways of dealing with the burdens of life:

* Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue.

* Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.

* Remember to fill your senses with something uplifting: Music you love, a gorgeous sunset, a really great meal, passionate kisses, a heart to heart conversation with someone you care about.

* Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be recalled by their maker.

* If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.

* If you lend someone anything and never see that person again, it was probably worth it. It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to be kind to others.

 * Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.

* It's the second mouse that gets the cheese.

* When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.

* Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live.

* Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.
* We could learn a lot from crayons... Some are sharp, some are pretty, and some are dull. Some have weird names, and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.
*A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

May you all  have Love to Share, Health to Spare, and Friends that Care =)

DIY Split Ends Treatment

Hello girls! Let me share with you a tried and tested hair mender. It's a deep moisturizer for your tresses that you can concoct in the convenience of your own kitchen.

You will need:
1 teaspoon honey
2 tablespoon coconut oil
1 egg yolk

Beat all the ingredients together and apply to hair ends (you may also apply on the rest of your hair if there's something left of the mixture). Leave on for 30 minutes. Rinse and shampoo.

Why it works:
Coconut oil has traditionally been known to be very good for skin and hair. It provides a protective layer and locks in the hair's natural moisture. The honey will draw moisture to the hair and the egg yolks has many natural ingredients (vitamins, A, D, E, B12, folic acid and Lecithin) which makes the hair more healthy.

More natural DIY hair and body treatments to come!!

Hope this works for you!

xoxo
